 XReader’s
image processing software modules include the industry leading DataGlyphTM
(Xerox Corp.) symbology reader. FSI
Automation's XReader DataGlyph technology is used by XSIS
(Xerox Special Information Systems) on their installations of Xerox
Docuprint high-speed printers equipped with their "Feed
Assurance Feature". FSI Automation recently received a
patent covering the high-speed location and reading of DataGlyph symbols.
DataGlyph reading applications have also been developed by FSI Automation for
use on various inserting equipment. Please contact us for more information

 XReader
software modules also include symbology readers for Datamatrix, Barcode, OCR and
other reference marks (such as postmarks)
on print stock, printed documents and envelopes.
All of the XReader modules support highly accurate decoding at the
highest speeds seen (or anticipated) in the printing and document handling
industry. For example, on
high-speed Xerox printers multiple DataGlyphs can be located and read at paper
speeds of over 40 inches per second or 180 pages per minute.
On high-end inserting equipment, these speeds can reach over 200 inches
per second with a potential of up to 30,000 documents per hour.

Automation’s PC-based system can be supplied with a printer or inserter by the
OEM manufacturer or can be retrofitted to an existing unit.
The use of a modular Visual Basic and Visual C++ software approach allows
the customization and expansion of XReader for specific OEM or end user
applications such as sequence
checking of inserted documents as shown at the top of the envelope window to
the left.
Although
designed with the printing industry in mind, the core symbology reading software
modules developed as part of FSI's XReader Technology have value and application
in any setting where embedded data symbols may be used.
